Niseko Powder Week
Niseko Powder Week
Dare to ride with the best? Join other advanced riders hungry for untouched powder and go deeper into Niseko’s backcountry. Get yourself a spot if you want to push your boundaries and take your riding to the next level.
If you’ve been through the Gates of Niseko, this itinerary will take you further into secret spots with the likes of Annupuri backbowls, Hanazono’s backcountry & even dropping into Goshiki Onsen from the peak of Hirafu.
Safety is always a priority to minimize risk for maximum fun. With an introductory session for Avalanche Safety Training, we’ll be embarking on a backcountry tour in off-the-grid mountains near Niseko. If this isn’t enough to satisfy you, cat skiing in Iwanai will do the trick.

I've been going to Niseko every year since 2014 and decided to try something new with The Ride Side in 2017. Cost: The entire trip was insanely cost-effective. Lodging arrangements are way cheaper than whatever you'd be paying at a hotel or service apartment. Alex has also sourced out all the best foods in the local towns that won't put a giant dent in your pocket; plus he'll take you to the local supermarkets that have way much more to offer than the seicomarts (imagine A4 Wagyu steaks for 12 bucks). Snowboarding/Skiing: I thought there wouldn't be anything new for me to see considering i'd been there 3 years in a row but but I was super wrong. The team really knew the terrain and were recommending areas I had never seen or knew could be accessed; ended up looking forward to each morning. Group: This is the best part imo. As long as you open yourself up, I guarantee you're going to have fun making new friends, getting hammered, pigging out, riding together and embarrassing yourself falling. Alex makes a great effort too to make sure that no one feels left out and that everyone feels part of the group.
Was never in Japan before, so taking this trip with The Ride Side was really good idea. Guys have everything covered. Transportation, new dining place every day, and several ski resorts. So you just relax and ride. TRS team is really friendly and helpful, always there for you, no matter what is your riding level. Special thanks to Terry Tan for being my ski tour guide and video operator 🙂 Living in the lodge was fun. Chester, you rock man 🙂 Alex, Daphne you guys doing a great job. Wish you all the best in this endeavour!
