I live in Japan and have been on numerous snowboarding trips over the past years, from the smaller resorts to the more famous places like niseko, hakuba, zao etc, and while the snow in hokkaido is undoubtedly better, I must say that the Ride Side's concept of bringing a bunch of people (strangers probably) together for a week of snowboarding was definitely my best snowboarding experience in Japan. The logistics (pick-up, accomodation, shuttle to/from ski resort) were well organized, the guides were well oriented with the mountains and were able to bring us on exciting off-piste trails, and just chilling (and eating and drinking) together with a group of like-minded people after a long day of snowboarding really made it a complete experience. I would recommend it to everyone- from complete beginners to more advanced riders- if you're looking for something more than just a normal snowboarding trip!
I was dying to ride one last time before the season ends and I was frantically looking at options. I decided to take a leap of faith with The Ride Side and signed up! It was the best decision I made because I had my most enjoyable snowboard trip with them after doing it for the last 3 years. Alex and Daphne along with their crew Isaac, Sam, Terry took care of the group in every aspect! They brought us to the best places to snowboard and coolest restaurants to eat! The group came as strangers and left as friends that we continue to keep in close contact back in SG! TRS is great for all level riders as they truly can cater to your needs! Am so impressed that I will also be signing up for their upcoming NZ trip! Can’t wait for another awesome experience with them!
I've snowboarded in Japan before but it was nothing compared to the experience I had with TRS. Initially I wasn't sure what to expect joining and living with a group of strangers, but after the first day we were practically family. The people are super fun and like minded, the hosts are very talented, helpful and accommodating, and the package made the trip so simple and convenient. This was up there amongst the best experiences in my life! Keep it up TRS! Will see you on the slopes soon!
It was my second season snowboarding but my first season with TRS. Having planned the first season on my own, the convenience TRS provides was greatly felt throughout the week. TRS doesn't just introduce snowboarding, but the whole snowboarding experience on and off the slopes. The crew goes for runs together, showed us different runs on the slopes, patient and most importantly looks out for everyone as much as possible. and off the slope, TRS was very flexible in terms of places to go for dinner and activities. Some groups wanted onsen, some wanted dinner, some wanted to just rest at the lodge. they manage to fit everyones request and made sure all guest request were met as much as possible. and of course, meeting people from TRS has been one of the biggest take away from the trip. Alex, daph, isaac, Sam, terry, great people to hangout with. met guest within the same week and we still keep in touch. honestly, price is super close to when i planned my own trip, so i'd rather choose TRS who can save me the hassle of planning. great job guys, see yall in NZ!

My wife and I went for TRS Niseko in December and found it to be a great experience. Prior to the trip I had never touched a snowboard but with Alex and Daphne’s help we were able to go down red/black slopes. Alex and Daphne take a personal interest in helping you achieve your snowboarding goals during the trip and we found that to be one of things that set them apart from the other options available. Meals and transport are also taken care of, making it a fuss-free experience, which is especially helpful if you are doing this for the first time. I strongly recommend TRS and my wife and I will definitely be back again!
I first joined TRS in August 2017 during their NZ season. Being a first timer to the hobby, I was naturally nervous and afraid that I wouldn't be able to board properly or have fun, and that the trip would be a total waste of time and money. My fears were unfounded, this trip was simply amazing. Since then I've joined the crew again in Niseko 2017 and it was another fantastic experience. There are multiple reasons why I feel you should consider TRS if you are keen on picking up this new hobby: 1. Very knowledgeable about the local ski and snowboard scene 2. All trip arrangements taken care of - you can simply relax 3. Friendly and approachable crew 4. Communal living and being able to meet new people with the same interest and passion! 5. Most are qualified instructors and give you tips on how to improve I will definitely be joining them again in the future.
Joined the Niseko trip in 2018. Best trip I've ever done! Unbelievable way to kick start my addiction to snowboarding. Alex and his team gave fantastic advice, created a fuss free trip (pick up, shuttle to/from Sapporo, restaurants, onsens) and were extremely hospitable to someone who was new to snowboarding and the slopes in Niseko. Great vibes all week. Whether you're a beginner or a pro, if you want to see some amazing places, progress your riding and have heaps of fun, hit up The Ride Side and you will have the time of your life. I'm definitely going back for more.
A couple of friends and I signed up with TRS to join one of their runs to Niseko in Jan 2018 and had a fantastic time. The group comprised around 20+ people - we stayed in 2 separate lodges and got to experience communal living with like-minded people. The aspect that I most appreciated being with the TRS was that everything was nicely planned out - lodging, restaurants, local transport and getting to try out the different ski slopes around the Niseko area. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the TRS, especially to beginners who don’t know where to start - you’ll be in good hands!
