About our warranty

The Ride Side is the ‘Authorised Dealer’ for all the brands we carry and all products sold are covered by their respective brand manufacturer’s warranty. Warranty coverage and claim procedures vary with each manufacturer brand.

While The Ride Side is not responsible for warranty claims and servicing for all items sold, we endeavour to support and communicate all warranty requests to the respective brand manufacturers and provide a smooth and transparent warranty claim experience.

LIMITED IN HOUSE WARRANTY

On top of all manufacturer’s warranty policies, The Ride Side extends our own in-house guarantee that all skateboards, cruisers, longboards & surfskates purchased from our online store and/or our local stores are free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of (30) days from the date of purchase.

The Ride Side may require the holding of your product to assess the extent of the damage for up to a maximum of (14) days. A receipt will be issued to the owner, please show the receipt to a crew or staff when it is ready to pick up.

SUBMITTING A CLAIM

This warranty applies only to the original owner and must be accompanied by the original sales receipt / e-receipt as proof of purchase. 

All claims must be submitted through our online warranty claim form, within (30) days from the date of purchase.

The Ride Side does not provide warranty coverage to the ownership of second hand users, all warranty procedures have to go through the original purchaser.

This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from impact, misuse, abuse, accident, negligence or normal wear and tear. 

Any warranty claims beyond 30 days from date of purchase will not be valid.

Warranty on YOW and SLIDE surfskates

The Ride Side extends a 6 months in-house warranty and servicing free of charge for YOW and Slide surfskates purchased from The Ride Side, either online or in our retail stores, pertaining to the truck system, springs and truck bearings. This complimentary warranty is only valid for 6 months from date of purchase. 

This warranty applies only to the original owner and must be accompanied by the original sales receipt / e-receipt as proof of purchase. 

The Ride Side does not provide warranty coverage to the ownership of second hand users, all warranty procedures have to go through the original purchaser.

This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from impact, misuse, abuse, accident, negligence or normal wear and tear.

This complimentary warranty will be voided on items that are water logged or present signs of rusting due to negligence and use.

Disclaimer:

The Ride Side reserves the right, as we see fair, to either repair or replace any products covered by this warranty and the right to replace any discontinued models with comparable models when necessary. Complete skateboards will not be replaced. This warranty covers the respective defective components only.

The Ride Side will not be held liable for any improper application of Grip Tapes although on a conditional basis we will replace grips on new decks due to aesthetical errors and improper application by The Ride Side's retail staff.

What is not covered by Warranty:

Normal wear and tear in the form of:

  • Tail or nose wear from dragging your Skateboard / Longboard / Surfskate
  • Damage due to impact on curbs or other objects
  • Damage from extreme temperature changes, water, or moisture
  • Warping as a result of exposure to heat, snow, rain, or immersion in water
  • Edges chipping or cracks from impact to foreign objects
  • Minor differences in symmetry (Aesthetics)
  • Stress cracks in the surface plies that are not deemed to be defects and do not affect the structural integrity of your Skateboard (Natural Wood Grain)
  • Rust on components due to usage in the rain / lack of maintenance 

Exclusions

  • User error in assembly of your Skateboard or components
  • High impact tricks
  • Any sort of intentional breakage

Other items:

  • Physically modifying your skateboard (chopping, redrilling, etc.)
  • Damage during shipping process (this responsibility lies with the carrier)
  • Grip tape replacement or repair (though we are happy to point you in the right direction)
  • Boards bought second hand
  • Does not cover bearings once used

Submitting a Warranty Request:

Step 1. Consult the manufacturer’s website to determine if the damage is covered by their warranty.

Step 3. We will contact you with further instructions as next steps vary by manufacturer. Please be patient as warranty issues can take a considerable amount of time to resolve as sometimes manufacturers are slow to respond to our outreach.
